Rank Math is rebuilding itself as the SEO layer AI assistants query directly.

Current state
Rank Math ships a dot-release every two weeks against a stable 3.0 line, so the version numbers understate what is changing underneath. Two tracks dominate: an expanding MCP tool surface that lets external AI assistants read link reports, schema, and keyword positions out of a WordPress site, and AI Link Genius, the internal linking engine that absorbs most of the bug-fix traffic. Content AI moved off credit metering to per-feature monthly limits in April, and June brought AI Visibility, which tracks how a brand appears inside AI answer engines.
Where it's heading
The MCP work is not a side experiment: each release since May 28 has added or enriched a tool, moving from raw retrieval (links, schema) to interpretation (keyword position trends). Rank Math is positioning the plugin as the queryable data layer an assistant reaches for when asked about a site's SEO, rather than a dashboard a human reads. AI Visibility points the same instinct outward — measuring the site's standing inside AI platforms, not just search results. The fix log says the hard part is integration breadth: Elementor, ACF, classic editor, and multisite all break the newer modules in different ways.
Prediction
Expect the MCP catalog to keep growing toward write operations — an assistant that can apply schema or insert internal links, not only read them — and for AI Visibility to gain the tracking history and reporting that the keyword tools already have.

Email report layout and Link Genius tooltip fixes

A table header layout fix in Email SEO Reports and a z-index fix for AI Link Genius tooltips. Housekeeping on the two modules that have absorbed the most recent feature work, with nothing new exposed to users.

MCP keyword tool adds position trends; Link Genius and schema fixes

The get-top-keywords MCP tool now annotates tracked keywords as winning, losing, or stable — the first time Rank Math hands an assistant an interpretation rather than a raw number. The rest is integration debt: Link Genius resolving the wrong post on shared slugs, multi-@type schema imports, and ACF permalink 404s.

AI Visibility tracks brand presence across AI platforms

    ⚡ SPARK

AI Visibility extends Rank Math's measurement surface past search rankings into how a brand shows up across AI platforms, arriving alongside the MCP tooling that makes site data readable by those same assistants. Both halves of the same bet: the answer engine is where the traffic decision now happens.

Three MCP tools expose link reports and post schema to AI assistants

Three more MCP tools — site-wide link statistics, per-post links, and per-post schema including PRO types — broaden what an assistant can read out of a site. It is catalog expansion along the direction v3.0.114 set, not a new direction, but it is the release where schema and link data both became machine-addressable.

Rank Math opens an MCP surface for AI assistants

    ⚡ SPARK

The release that opened the MCP track: Rank Math MCP Tools let external AI assistants analyze a site's SEO strategy against competitors, and the Marketplace adds a distribution surface inside the plugin. Every release since has extended the tool catalog, making this the hinge in the current arc.

Link Genius opens to Link Builder role; AI Traffic data fixed

AI Link Genius opens up to users holding the Link Builder capability, a News Sitemap filter relaxes strict term exclusion, and AI Traffic data loads on setups where it previously failed. Access and reliability work on the AI modules rather than new capability.
