Railway
After its October 21 incident, Railway starts patching service images automatically.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of Prowler and Semgrep — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
Prowler 5.47 collapses cloud onboarding to one step and explains why each issue matters.
Prowler ships a minor release every one to two weeks. 5.47.0 reworks the add-provider wizard into one connect step for every provider, with Lighthouse AI able to connect the provider itself after confirming details. The Issues page from 5.46 is renamed Exploitability issues and now leads with a verdict, an attack path and a Why column of five evidence legs. New Azure checks arrive, and an AWS security-group flaw where split CIDRs passed exposure checks is fixed.
Semgrep 1.183 ends Intel Mac binaries and rebuilds Bash and Swift matching.
Semgrep ships weekly on two tracks. 1.183 stops shipping Intel Mac binaries, restructures Bash arithmetic matching, widens Swift parsing and speeds up scans with many rules. Supply Chain now records Go dependency paths and parses pnpm 11 lockfiles, and a lockfile that fails to parse marks its subproject unresolved instead of reporting zero dependencies. Objective-C remains in alpha from 1.182.

Prowler Cloud is moving from listing findings toward arguing which ones are exploitable, with the free engine as the data source. Lighthouse AI is also moving from advice to action, now connecting accounts as well as triaging findings, while MCP tools declare which calls are destructive. Coverage keeps growing through community-contributed checks.
Expect further Exploitability issues work built on the attack-path graph and more Lighthouse AI actions with confirmation steps.

Grammar work is moving toward real-world parsing across Bash, Swift, Clojure and Objective-C rather than new rule features. On the dependency side the theme has become honesty about failure: `semgrep ci --no-suppress-errors` now exits 2 when local-build resolution fails. The MCP server is also being scoped more tightly, limiting scans to the client's workspace root by default.
Objective-C++ (.mm) support, promised in the 1.182 notes, is the clearest next step. More Supply Chain changes that replace silent empty results with explicit errors look likely.
