Pencil2D's 0.7.1 candidates are mostly about not losing the user's work
A side-by-side editorial comparison of Oxygen and Storybook — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
Oxygen bolts an AI agent onto WordPress site-building, then irons out the betas.
Oxygen is a WordPress visual site builder that spent early 2026 on a v4 maintenance tail before jumping to the 6.x line. Version 6.1 delivered concrete builder gains — multi-element selection, variable fonts, conditional classes — and 6.2 made the headline move: connecting an AI agent to WordPress so it can build and edit pages, templates, and styles directly. The current work is beta-stabilizing that 6.2 release.
Storybook's 10.6 alphas are mostly framework plumbing, with TanStack support taking the most attention
The visible window is three consecutive 10.6 alpha prereleases. The work is almost entirely integration maintenance: TanStack Start behaviour, Angular-Vite peer dependency changes, an upgrade to TypeScript 6.0.3, and addon-level fixes for Vitest and syntax highlighting. One experimental Manager API for batching filters is the only new surface.

The release rhythm is a disciplined beta to RC to stable grind, but the direction is set by one bet: turning the builder into an agent-operable surface. Oxygen shipped its AI-agent capability the same week as sibling builder Breakdance, and is now hardening it through 6.2 betas rather than chasing new UI features.
Expect more 6.2.x beta fixes to stabilize the agent integration, then a widening of which builder primitives the agent can touch as Oxygen races Breakdance and the wider WordPress-builder field to stay agent-addressable.

Storybook is spending this cycle keeping pace with the frameworks around it rather than extending its own capability. TanStack appears in every one of the three alphas, which marks it as the integration currently receiving the most attention, and the TypeScript 6 support widening points at readiness work for the next generation of toolchains.
Expect the 10.6 alpha line to keep absorbing TanStack fixes until it reaches a release candidate, with the experimental filter API either stabilising or staying flagged through the release.

Pencil2D's 0.7.1 candidates are mostly about not losing the user's work
Three alpha releases of steady rendering fixes, then the feed goes quiet
darktable keeps its solstice release rhythm, but the feed publishes checksums instead of features
Picsart's blog doubles as a model catalog: whatever video model is hot, it's already inside.
Boords turned its AI frames into shots you can re-block, then wrapped them in review and revision plumbing
Every Mediamodifier entry is one new mockup template, so the feed measures catalog output
