Opus is at 1.6.1, a small fix release on top of 1.6. Opus is moving in two directions that would once have looked contradictory: reconstructing audio that was never transmitted, via ML-based redundancy and loss concealment at very low bitrates, and carrying far more of it, via 96 kHz and 24-bit paths. Both extend a codec whose IETF-standard core has been frozen for years, by adding layers around it rather than changing the bitstream everyone already decodes.
With 1.6.1 confined to minor fixes and the bandwidth-extension module newly landed, the next releases are likely to tune and optimize the existing ML modules rather than add another.

The AI features have moved from capability to consumption: metered credits with overage billing means respond.io expects agent usage to grow past what bundled plans cover, and it is pricing for that rather than rationing it. Copilot lowers the setup cost that kept AI Agents unbuilt, which feeds the same meter. The channel and inbox releases keep widening the surface those agents operate across, so the AI work and the messaging work reinforce each other rather than competing for roadmap.
Expect credit consumption reporting to get more granular as customers start seeing overage lines on invoices, and expect Copilot's agent builder to extend from drafting into tuning agents against real conversation history. The integrations page redesign suggests more first-party connectors following Calendly.
