What is OpenObserve?

OpenObserve 1.2.0-rc1 opens a metrics v2 cycle with chart alerts and forecasts.

OpenObserve opened its 1.2 cycle with v1.2.0-rc1, led by metrics v2: alerts created from charts, comparisons, forecasts, formulas and Prometheus 3.x functions. The rest is fixes: PromQL result-cache alignment, a switch back to the upstream promql-parser, and alert dedup state keyed by org. The 1.1 line before it was memory-bounded caches, PromQL quantile speedups and backport patches.

What is Rho?

Rho 0.5.4 adds a generic ACP backend so agents beyond Claude can plug in

Rho is an R IDE with an agentic layer whose feed is mostly release engineering. 0.5.3 let Claude sessions run without Rho's step and time caps. 0.5.4 fixes the Node engine range so Node 24 and 26 install cleanly from npm, and carries what main gained since: a generic ACP backend, rho --grant with --agent, a cell's own project Python, analysis-run and screen-check Skills, and a data flow graph from plugins. Two archive tags on November 5 are branch cleanup.

OpenObserve 1.2.0-rc1 opens a metrics v2 cycle with chart alerts and forecasts.

◆ Current state

OpenObserve opened its 1.2 cycle with v1.2.0-rc1, led by metrics v2: alerts created from charts, comparisons, forecasts, formulas and Prometheus 3.x functions. The rest is fixes: PromQL result-cache alignment, a switch back to the upstream promql-parser, and alert dedup state keyed by org. The 1.1 line before it was memory-bounded caches, PromQL quantile speedups and backport patches.

◆ Where it's heading

After a release cycle spent on metrics storage internals, OpenObserve is now building user-facing metrics features on top. The direction is toward a Prometheus-compatible metrics experience that competes on analysis, not just ingestion cost.

◆ Prediction

Expect further 1.2 release candidates with fixes before a stable 1.2.0, following the three-RC pattern of 1.1.

Rho 0.5.4 adds a generic ACP backend so agents beyond Claude can plug in

◆ Current state

Rho is an R IDE with an agentic layer whose feed is mostly release engineering. 0.5.3 let Claude sessions run without Rho's step and time caps. 0.5.4 fixes the Node engine range so Node 24 and 26 install cleanly from npm, and carries what main gained since: a generic ACP backend, rho --grant with --agent, a cell's own project Python, analysis-run and screen-check Skills, and a data flow graph from plugins. Two archive tags on November 5 are branch cleanup.

◆ Where it's heading

The 0.5 line is moving from a Claude-specific agent bridge toward an agent-neutral one: a generic ACP backend, per-agent permission grants and packaged Skills. Distribution is also maturing, with npm registry installs now the documented path.

◆ Prediction

Expect a 0.5.x release that documents or tests specific ACP agents against the new backend, and more Skills packaged for analysis workflows.
