WeWeb
WeWeb ships a new integration or AI control every week, quietly closing the gap with custom-coded apps.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of OpenAPI Generator and Weaviate — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
OpenAPI Generator holds a 240-change cadence across forty-odd language targets.
The project ships stable releases every four to eight weeks, each carrying 150 to 240 enhancements and fixes spread across generators for C#, Dart, Go, Java, Kotlin, C++, Crystal and dozens more. 7.25.0 follows the pattern: a parser update, restored schemaMapping imports in API interfaces, a stable input-spec hash for the Maven plugin, a way for clients to inject vendor overrides, and splitOperationsByContentType. Every recent release is labelled as carrying breaking changes with fallbacks.
Weaviate 1.39 stacks Boost API GA, MMR diversity selection, 4-bit quantization preview, and an experimental Search REST API.
Weaviate 1.39 shipped four compounding retrieval improvements in one release: Boost API and MMR diversity selection moved to GA, 4-bit Rotational Quantization (RQ) was previewed as a memory-efficiency option, and an experimental Search REST API was introduced. The HFresh disk-based vector index — also now GA — gives users low-heap vector search with incremental background maintenance. A detailed post on 4-bit RQ benchmarks and SIMD performance trades off against TurboQuant, showing the engineering depth behind the feature.

Two constants govern this feed. The core keeps absorbing OpenAPI 3.1 semantics - null handling, map normalisation, any-type with additional properties, allOf members alongside validation keywords - while the per-language generators take independent fixes from their own maintainers. Shipping breaking changes with fallbacks is how a project with this many downstream consumers avoids forcing coordinated upgrades, and it has held for at least six releases.
OpenAPI 3.1 normalisation has produced fixes in every release for months and is still doing so, so expect that work to continue rather than conclude.

Weaviate is building along two parallel axes: storage efficiency (scalar quantization, product quantization, 4-bit RQ, HFresh disk index) and retrieval sophistication (Boost API, MMR, Query Agent effort tiers, query profiling). The multi-part 'Building Foundry' series for creative archive search signals engagement beyond the standard enterprise knowledge base use case. The experimental Search REST API, if promoted to GA, would reduce the barrier for direct HTTP integrations without the Weaviate client library.
The experimental Search REST API will likely reach GA in the next one or two releases; the Query Agent's tiered effort modes (medium/high/ultrahigh) will probably exit preview once the REST API provides a stable access layer for external tooling.
