v1.37 signals a deliberate push to make Kubernetes a first-class substrate for AI/ML workloads: DRA Extended Resource support at GA, workload-aware scheduling advances, and in-place pod resize preemption all address the scheduling and resource isolation patterns that large training and inference jobs require. The next cycle will focus on pushing these features from beta to GA and expanding their scope.
DRA and rootless mode will both reach GA in v1.38, closing the current AI-workload resource isolation wave; HPA scale-to-zero will advance toward stable API status.

Two constants govern this feed. The core keeps absorbing OpenAPI 3.1 semantics - null handling, map normalisation, any-type with additional properties, allOf members alongside validation keywords - while the per-language generators take independent fixes from their own maintainers. Shipping breaking changes with fallbacks is how a project with this many downstream consumers avoids forcing coordinated upgrades, and it has held for at least six releases.
OpenAPI 3.1 normalisation has produced fixes in every release for months and is still doing so, so expect that work to continue rather than conclude.
