What is Notion?

Notion is turning Custom Agents into event-driven workers with their own runtime and billing.

Almost every release in this window serves one construction: Custom Agents, the Workers that run code for them, and the surfaces they reach. Workers became shareable across a team in early July, gained usage tracking in the credits dashboard three weeks later, and the agents themselves picked up calendar tools and a dedicated iOS app. The single non-agent entry is a high contrast display mode.

What is Backlog?

Backlog ships steady planning and mobile work under a pile of scraped site chrome.

Most of what reaches this feed is Nulab marketing navigation — product names, team pages, workflow menus — captured as entries. The actual releases are narrow and consistent: Gantt groups now show a date-range bar with issue counts and status breakdown, personal charts ignore parent-subtask nesting, the Android client was redesigned at 3.0.1, iOS custom fields take markdown, and three APIs now report whether a project uses Git or Subversion.

Notion is turning Custom Agents into event-driven workers with their own runtime and billing.

◆ Current state

Almost every release in this window serves one construction: Custom Agents, the Workers that run code for them, and the surfaces they reach. Workers became shareable across a team in early July, gained usage tracking in the credits dashboard three weeks later, and the agents themselves picked up calendar tools and a dedicated iOS app. The single non-agent entry is a high contrast display mode.

◆ Where it's heading

The agent is moving from something a person prompts toward something the workspace starts on its own. Meeting note completion is now a trigger, so an agent can run without anyone opening a chat. Underneath that, Workers are being built out as shared infrastructure with an access model and a metered usage line, which is the shape of a platform rather than a feature.

◆ Prediction

Workers usage is now visible in the credits dashboard with the note that the beta will end, so paid metering for Workers is the clearly telegraphed next step. Expect more triggers alongside meeting notes as well, since one trigger type does not justify the trigger machinery.

Backlog logo0.0

Backlog ships steady planning and mobile work under a pile of scraped site chrome.

◆ Current state

Most of what reaches this feed is Nulab marketing navigation — product names, team pages, workflow menus — captured as entries. The actual releases are narrow and consistent: Gantt groups now show a date-range bar with issue counts and status breakdown, personal charts ignore parent-subtask nesting, the Android client was redesigned at 3.0.1, iOS custom fields take markdown, and three APIs now report whether a project uses Git or Subversion.

◆ Where it's heading

Backlog is refining the parts long-running teams live in — the Gantt view and the mobile clients — rather than adding new surface. Nothing in the window points at AI, agents or a platform play; the work is closing gaps that force people out of the tool. As part of the Nulab suite it is being positioned alongside Cacoo and Nulab Pass, with enterprise packaging doing the selling.

◆ Prediction

On this cadence the next digest should be more of the same: incremental Gantt and mobile refinements, plus API fields that expose settings integrators currently have to infer.
