What is NocoBase?

NocoBase is building AI employees as plugins and Portals as the surface they live on

NocoBase runs two release trains in parallel — a 2.2.0 beta line and a 3.0.0 alpha line — publishing into both within hours of each other, with features crossing between them. Two constructions dominate the last fortnight. AI employees became extensible through the plugin system, gaining assignable skills, Portal-scoped conversations with unread counts, an embeddable chat block and frontend tools for JS blocks. Portal manager arrived alongside as the container: default Portal routing, access checks, fixed layouts, backup and restore for AI-mode Portals.

What is Tability?

Tability is handing OKR upkeep to agents, with the manager kept in the approval seat.

Tability shipped a single dated train on August 6 covering agent delegation, an AI spreadsheet importer, wider AI Mode context, and a Skills Library for Claude and ChatGPT. Underneath that sits the KPI module introduced in mid-July, which split business-as-usual metrics away from OKRs and gave them their own permissions, views, and import path. The product now has two tracked object types and is layering AI onto the labor of maintaining both.

N6.3

NocoBase is building AI employees as plugins and Portals as the surface they live on

◆ Current state

NocoBase runs two release trains in parallel — a 2.2.0 beta line and a 3.0.0 alpha line — publishing into both within hours of each other, with features crossing between them. Two constructions dominate the last fortnight. AI employees became extensible through the plugin system, gaining assignable skills, Portal-scoped conversations with unread counts, an embeddable chat block and frontend tools for JS blocks. Portal manager arrived alongside as the container: default Portal routing, access checks, fixed layouts, backup and restore for AI-mode Portals.

◆ Where it's heading

The pairing is deliberate. Skills are built from plugins, Portals are where employees are scoped and conversed with, and the CLI is being wired to drive both — LLM service creation, vector database management, and an alpha.8 addition that copies a ready-to-paste prompt for connecting a coding agent to the instance. NocoBase is positioning its low-code platform as somewhere agents are configured and hosted, not just a database with forms on top.

◆ Prediction

Expect the AI employee and Portal work to keep landing in the 3.0 alpha line while 2.2.0 receives backports, and expect the coding-agent connection path to grow beyond a copyable prompt. When 3.0 leaves alpha is not something these entries indicate.

T7.5

Tability is handing OKR upkeep to agents, with the manager kept in the approval seat.

◆ Current state

Tability shipped a single dated train on August 6 covering agent delegation, an AI spreadsheet importer, wider AI Mode context, and a Skills Library for Claude and ChatGPT. Underneath that sits the KPI module introduced in mid-July, which split business-as-usual metrics away from OKRs and gave them their own permissions, views, and import path. The product now has two tracked object types and is layering AI onto the labor of maintaining both.

◆ Where it's heading

Every recent addition attacks the same weakness in goal-tracking tools: the data goes stale because updating it is nobody's job. Tability's answer is to let agents do the gathering and drafting while routing proposals, decisions, access requests, and blockers back to a human before anything commits. The Skills Library and MCP integration point outward — the company appears content for the actual reasoning to happen in Claude or ChatGPT while Tability holds the structured record.

◆ Prediction

The delegation flow is the piece with room to run; expect agents to move from preparing work to posting check-ins and flagging at-risk goals on a schedule, with the KPI module as the data source. Whether the Skills Library grows or gets absorbed into the agent flow is the open question the entries do not settle.
