Hive ships in dense batches — seven changelog items landed on 31 July alone — and the largest share of them concern proofing. The current run covers AI proofing reliability for images and reviews, a reference-document picker before an AI review starts, an image-optimized viewing path for very large files, annotation stroke widths, and version privacy that keeps minor working versions hidden from published-only reviewers. Around that, Resourcing gained a 13-week estimates grid and project-name grouping, and Gantt rows now show configured project dates.

Two threads run in parallel. The security thread has systematically closed off every authentication path that was not cryptographically strict, culminating in 2.3.0 restricting WebAuthn login to discoverable passkeys only. The product thread is API-shaped: entry ID pagination, bulk starred updates, tag filtering, and a Go client that now exposes the full feed record — all aimed at people driving Miniflux from other software rather than its own UI.
The API surface is the area with visible momentum, so the next release most likely extends filtering or bulk operations further. Whether the passkey-only stance loosens to accommodate post-password MFA is the open question these notes raise but do not answer.

The proofing work is converging on external collaboration, which is a different market than internal project management. Hiding working versions from published-only reviewers, controlling which reference documents feed an AI review, and handling high-resolution source files without downsampling are all requirements that appear when clients and outside approvers are in the workflow, not just staff. Resourcing is following the same logic in the planning direction, separating unconfirmed estimates from committed assignments so a plan can exist before anyone is booked.
Expect AI proofing to keep widening its input formats and tightening its review lifecycle, since most of the recent items are reliability and control rather than new capability. The 13-week estimates grid is described as enabled per view, which suggests a staged rollout toward becoming the default resourcing entry point.
