◆Current state
Double is an accounting-practice platform built around QuickBooks Online, and its Ask Double assistant is now the center of the product. Recent releases opened Connectors to all users (Slack, Notion, HubSpot, Google and any MCP server), added a cheaper Standard model and Auto routing, and filled out invoicing, deposits and cash-flow reporting.
◆Where it's heading
Two tracks run in parallel: deeper QBO bookkeeping coverage (sales tax, Undeposited Funds, revenue-share allocations) and an AI layer that can act across a firm's whole toolset. Model tiering and a free Scale-features week show Double managing AI cost while pushing upgrades.
◆Prediction
Expect Ask Double to start acting on connected tools rather than only reading from them, and continued QBO-first features that later reach other ledgers.
