What is Grav?

Grav's 1.7 line takes three patches in four hours, hardening every bundled web-server config.

Grav's 1.7 branch shipped three patches between 10-31 and 11-01. 1.7.53.7 backports five Grav 2.2.18 security fixes found by Anthropic's OSS Scanner, covering image conversion, cached cookie responses and media metadata. 1.7.53.8 brings the Grav 2 protection rules to the bundled Apache, IIS, nginx, Caddy and lighttpd configs plus the php -S router. 1.7.53.9 stops the :80 redirect on sites behind an HTTPS-terminating proxy.

What is HashiCorp?

Terraform 1.16 brings more of the infrastructure lifecycle back inside Terraform

HashiCorp's September run centres on Terraform. Version 1.16 adds destroy-time Actions and reusable imports in child modules, the Google Cloud provider reached 8.0, and HCP Terraform now offers HashiCorp-managed pre-written policies directly in the product. Boundary picked up guidance for securing AI agents under enterprise identity and audit controls, while HCP Vagrant is being deprecated in 2026. Entries here are short blog summaries, so depth is limited to what those lines state.

Grav's 1.7 line takes three patches in four hours, hardening every bundled web-server config.

◆ Current state

Grav's 1.7 branch shipped three patches between 10-31 and 11-01. 1.7.53.7 backports five Grav 2.2.18 security fixes found by Anthropic's OSS Scanner, covering image conversion, cached cookie responses and media metadata. 1.7.53.8 brings the Grav 2 protection rules to the bundled Apache, IIS, nginx, Caddy and lighttpd configs plus the php -S router. 1.7.53.9 stops the :80 redirect on sites behind an HTTPS-terminating proxy.

◆ Where it's heading

Security work lands on Grav 2 first and is then carried back to 1.7, and the pace of that carry-back jumped: one patch on 10-24, three within about four hours. The fixes moved from individual code paths to the web-server rules that sit in front of the application. Among web servers, only Apache sites get those rules on upgrade; IIS, nginx, Caddy and lighttpd sites must copy them by hand, so protection on 1.7 now depends on the host's web server.

◆ Prediction

Expect more 1.7.53.x patches mirroring 2.x security fixes, plus small follow-up fixes like the proxy redirect in 1.7.53.9. The entries don't show how long 1.7 support continues.

Terraform 1.16 brings more of the infrastructure lifecycle back inside Terraform

◆ Current state

HashiCorp's September run centres on Terraform. Version 1.16 adds destroy-time Actions and reusable imports in child modules, the Google Cloud provider reached 8.0, and HCP Terraform now offers HashiCorp-managed pre-written policies directly in the product. Boundary picked up guidance for securing AI agents under enterprise identity and audit controls, while HCP Vagrant is being deprecated in 2026. Entries here are short blog summaries, so depth is limited to what those lines state.

◆ Where it's heading

The Terraform work narrows the operations that still need external scripts or separate tooling, and pre-written policies do the same for compliance setup. Agent access remains the second thread, now through Boundary as well as Vault. Retiring HCP Vagrant suggests a tighter product focus around those two lines.

◆ Prediction

Expect further Terraform lifecycle and policy work, and Boundary agent guidance extending what the Vault agentic IAM release started. The newest entry is an industry piece on banking, so the next product move is not visible yet.
