What is GrandNode?

GrandNode rebuilt itself into modules — then the release feed went quiet for a year.

GrandNode ships one substantial beta per .NET major version, and the last one, 2.3.0, was the most structural: the monolith split into installable modules for installation, migration, API and scheduled tasks, each toggleable from appsettings, and the API layer dropped OData and Swagger for OpenAPI and Scalar. Nothing has appeared in the feed since that release in early 2025.

What is Hotplate?

Hotplate shipped a native seller app, then spent the summer sanding the drop workflow.

Hotplate is building for independent food sellers running timed drops, and this window shows a product filling in around that core loop. A native iOS portal app shipped out of beta with push notifications, the entire drops flow was reworked so windows can be edited while a drop is live, order confirmations were redesigned around at-a-glance pickup details and a QR code, and gift cards plus review replies arrived as self-serve features. A referral program change quietly reworked partner economics.

GrandNode rebuilt itself into modules — then the release feed went quiet for a year.

◆ Current state

GrandNode ships one substantial beta per .NET major version, and the last one, 2.3.0, was the most structural: the monolith split into installable modules for installation, migration, API and scheduled tasks, each toggleable from appsettings, and the API layer dropped OData and Swagger for OpenAPI and Scalar. Nothing has appeared in the feed since that release in early 2025.

◆ Where it's heading

The arc across these four betas is consistent decomposition. Each cycle pulls something out of the core — database providers, the vendor portal, template handling, then the installation and API subsystems themselves — and re-lands it as a separable piece. Payments moved the same way, with Stripe Checkout replacing the bundled PayPal plugin. The direction is clear; the cadence is not, and roughly a year of silence in the feed is the more significant fact right now.

◆ Prediction

The entries establish a rhythm of one beta per ASP.NET Core major, which would point at a .NET 10 cycle next, but nothing in this changelog indicates whether that work is underway — the gap since 2.3.0 is unexplained here.

Hotplate shipped a native seller app, then spent the summer sanding the drop workflow.

◆ Current state

Hotplate is building for independent food sellers running timed drops, and this window shows a product filling in around that core loop. A native iOS portal app shipped out of beta with push notifications, the entire drops flow was reworked so windows can be edited while a drop is live, order confirmations were redesigned around at-a-glance pickup details and a QR code, and gift cards plus review replies arrived as self-serve features. A referral program change quietly reworked partner economics.

◆ Where it's heading

The pattern is a platform moving from something a chef configures at a desk to something operated from a phone during a live sale. Editing pickup windows without closing them, red dots flagging active selling, mobile QR pickup, and push notifications all point the same direction: the software has to be usable while the seller's hands are full. Alongside that, gift cards, review replies, and the extended referral payout are storefront and growth surfaces rather than operations work.

◆ Prediction

Expect the iOS app to absorb more of the live-drop controls that currently favor the web portal, and expect the storefront side — reviews, gift cards — to keep gaining the trust features a standalone shop needs.
