What is FluentBooking?

FluentBooking rebuilt its entire admin — after having both plugins audited and signing every Pro update.

The 2.x line has picked up pace after a slow 2025. Version 2.3.0 lands a full admin rebuild covering the daily dashboard through the rarely-touched settings screens, framed as a performance fix as much as a visual one. It follows 2.2.5, which was a security release: both the free and Pro plugins went through an external review, the findings were fixed, and Pro updates must now prove their origin before installing. Earlier releases wired booking into FluentCRM, added CSV export and no-show triggers, and brought PHP 8.4 compatibility.

What is Synapse?

Synapse publishes only a changelog link, so its feed records releases without describing them

Synapse is the reference Matrix homeserver, and every entry captured here has the same 80-character body: a link to CHANGES.md on the release branch. Release candidates and finals alternate on a regular rhythm — 1.158, 1.159, and now a second candidate for 1.160 — but no note in this feed says what any of them contain. Judging any individual release from this source is impossible by construction.

FluentBooking vs Synapse: editorial side-by-side

F5.0

FluentBooking rebuilt its entire admin — after having both plugins audited and signing every Pro update.

◆ Current state

The 2.x line has picked up pace after a slow 2025. Version 2.3.0 lands a full admin rebuild covering the daily dashboard through the rarely-touched settings screens, framed as a performance fix as much as a visual one. It follows 2.2.5, which was a security release: both the free and Pro plugins went through an external review, the findings were fixed, and Pro updates must now prove their origin before installing. Earlier releases wired booking into FluentCRM, added CSV export and no-show triggers, and brought PHP 8.4 compatibility.

◆ Where it's heading

The order of these releases is the interesting part — audit and sign the distribution channel first, then ship the redesign on top of it. For a WordPress plugin sold in free and Pro tiers, update provenance is the attack surface that matters, and closing it before a large UI change reduces the blast radius of the riskier release. The FluentCRM work points the other way, toward suite consolidation: bookings, contacts, tags, and carts increasingly assume you run several Fluent products together.

◆ Prediction

Expect the redesigned admin to be followed by fixes as it meets real installs, and further integration depth across FluentCRM and FluentCart rather than standalone booking features. Signed updates likely become table stakes across the rest of the Fluent range.

Synapse publishes only a changelog link, so its feed records releases without describing them

◆ Current state

Synapse is the reference Matrix homeserver, and every entry captured here has the same 80-character body: a link to CHANGES.md on the release branch. Release candidates and finals alternate on a regular rhythm — 1.158, 1.159, and now a second candidate for 1.160 — but no note in this feed says what any of them contain. Judging any individual release from this source is impossible by construction.

◆ Where it's heading

What the feed does establish is process. Each minor gets at least one release candidate before the final, candidates and finals are tagged days apart, and the cadence has held steady across three minors. That is a project shipping predictably. Anything about federation, performance or spec support would have to come from the linked changelog, which the feed never inlines.

◆ Prediction

On the established rhythm, 1.160.0 final should follow this second candidate within about a week. The notes will stay link-only unless the release tooling changes.
