Semgrep
Semgrep adds Objective-C as an alpha target, its first new language since Dart went GA.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of ESPHome and Payload CMS — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
ESPHome adds a sixth 2026.10 beta, one more than 2026.9 needed before its .0.
ESPHome runs a monthly cycle of betas, a .0 release, then patches. 2026.10 is at beta 6. Betas 3–5 cut memory on ESP8266 and ESP32, fixed RP2350 PIO and CAN bus crashes, and prepared BLE and Noise code for ESP-IDF 6.1. Beta 6 bumps the bundled device builder to 1.25.0, fixes web_server OTA on RP2040 and reduces stack use for state SSE.
Payload v4 beta 3 adds Next.js cache components and moves TanStack Start to React Flight.
Payload 4.0 is on its fourth beta. beta.3 adds support for Next.js cache components, with the admin rendered at request time, and switches the TanStack Start adapter to React Flight for RSC responses, a breaking change for that adapter. The rest is fixes: per-locale validation when writing all locales, live-preview and bulk-upload UI bugs, and a Drizzle locale index tweak. The beta.0 bundle of admin redesign, TanStack Start support and the rewritten MCP server remains the release's core.

Work is concentrating on newer silicon (RP2350, ESP32-P4, nRF52), readiness for the next ESP-IDF major and keeping small boards viable through footprint cuts. Late betas are now narrow fixes, which suggests the cycle is close to done.
Expect 2026.10.0 within days now that betas are down to small fixes; its headline features are only in the linked beta changelog.
Payload 4.0 is on its fourth beta. beta.3 adds support for Next.js cache components, with the admin rendered at request time, and switches the TanStack Start adapter to React Flight for RSC responses, a breaking change for that adapter. The beta.0 bundle of admin redesign, TanStack Start support and the rewritten MCP server remains the release's core.
The betas are converging on two framework adapters with comparable rendering models: Next.js gains cache-components support while TanStack Start moves onto React Flight. Breaking changes are now confined to the newer adapter, and most of each beta is fixes and repo tooling, which points toward a stable 4.0.
Expect further weekly betas with adapter fixes and migration docs before 4.0 stable. The entries still give no stable date, and further TanStack Start breaking changes remain possible.
