Snorkel AI
Snorkel AI's feed is benchmark research and a $30M grants program, not product releases.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of Elicit and Ollama — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
Elicit's research agent now runs on a schedule and reports back by email.
Elicit has spent four months turning an evidence-synthesis tool into an agent platform. July made the API and an MCP server public, August introduced the Research Agent for decision work, September made projects and the library shared across teams, and the newest entry lets the agent create Routines that monitor for new evidence, update artifacts and email summaries without the user present.
Ollama v0.40.13 takes LFM3 text-to-speech from Apple silicon to Linux and Windows.
Ollama v0.40.13 brings Liquid AI's LFM3 models, including text-to-speech in lfm3-audio and lfm3-omni, to Linux and Windows after v0.40.12 shipped them on Apple silicon only. A late release candidate added a temporary workaround for a Metal build failure on older macOS. Speech itself arrived in v0.40.11 with Phonon on macOS and an OpenAI-compatible /v1/audio/speech endpoint.

Each release moves Elicit further from a search box a researcher drives toward a standing service that works on a team's behalf: first callable from other tools, then agentic, then shared, now scheduled. The library is becoming the shared memory the agent reads from and writes back to.
Routines currently report by email; the next visible step is likely routines that act on shared team collections or push into other tools through the API and MCP that already exist. The entries don't say how Routines are priced or limited, which is the open question.

Ollama is widening from a local text LLM runner into a local runtime for several model types: vision, decision scoring and now speech. New model families land on Apple hardware first and reach other platforms soon after; LFM3 made the jump in about a day between v0.40.12 and v0.40.13.
Expect the Apple-first pattern to repeat with the next model family, and Phonon voices to follow LFM3 onto Linux and Windows; the entries don't show when.
