Bytebase
Bytebase is turning database change control into AI-agent access control.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of Dragonfly and Retool — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
Dragonfly opens its 2.x incremental line with a fix for connections wrongly killed on slow links.
Dragonfly runs two lines at once: the 2.0 tag set the new major baseline, while the 1.40 incremental line keeps absorbing memory-accounting, cluster and replication fixes. The first 2.x incremental build, i2.0.1, fixes send-progress tracking so slow but live connections are no longer closed by --send_timeout. The work is almost entirely correctness and operability; nothing in this window adds a new command or user-facing feature.
Retool is giving its app-building agent the keys to data sources, not just UI
Retool is shipping on two tracks: rapid model additions (Claude Opus 5.5, GPT 6 Luna/Sol, GPT Image 2.5) and steady expansion of its app-building agent, which can now create Postgres and REST API resources from a prompt. Team-plan customers can now use Retool-provided models without bringing their own keys. Around the edges it is pruning — Assist left the classic builder and Free-plan Retool Email ends in January 2027.

The release stream points toward hardening the networking and memory-accounting core before the 2.x line takes on new capability. Scope-based memory tracking shipped disabled in v2.0.0 and is still waiting on its follow-up PR. Meanwhile, migration compatibility (RedisShake) and cluster reply batching show continued attention to teams moving off Redis.
The next notable move is likely enabling scope-based memory tracking on the 2.x line, alongside more i2.0.x builds that carry the same facade and accounting fixes forward from 1.40.

The direction is agent-first app building, with the classic builder and free-tier extras being wound down. Letting the agent provision resources moves it from layout help toward wiring the backend, and bundled models on Team lower the setup cost of using it. Custom authentication for embedded apps points the other way — making Retool apps easier to ship inside customers' own products.
Expect the agent to take on more of the backend setup — additional resource types beyond Postgres and REST — and more paid-tier gating of features that were previously free.
