Dagster is spending this cycle on scale problems in the UI and correctness in asset state
Weekly releases on the 1.13 line, each small and specific. The recurring subjects are UI performance at scale (a virtualized asset catalog, a bounded preview for runs targeting large asset selections), correctness around wiped assets and stuck backfills, and integration surface — a preview Snowflake component for orchestrating dbt projects natively, an insights option for the dbt component, and EMR Serverless dashboard tuning.
Chord's changelog has become a Chord AI changelog — the CDP is being answered by a conversation.
Chord ships biweekly release notes, and for the last three months nearly every one has led with Chord AI. The CDP surfaces that dominated April's notes — searchable tables, large-scale management — have receded, replaced by a continuous rebuild of the Copilot layer: feedback memory, live documentation grounding, enriched context, persistent history, shareable conversations, answers grounded in the customer's own business definitions. Copilot Next, previewed to a small group in late June, is the vehicle for that rebuild.

The pattern points at customers running large graphs: the fixes that matter here are the ones that stop the UI freezing on many asset groups, stop backfills stalling on mismatched partition definitions, and stop wiped assets reporting stale materializations. Alongside that, dbt keeps drawing integration work from both the Snowflake and core dbt sides.
Expect the Snowflake dbt component to move out of preview and more of the asset catalog and runs feed to adopt bounded-then-load-on-demand fetching as the default for large workspaces.

The sequence reads as trust-building followed by capability. First Chord made the answers legible and defensible — show the work, cite the definitions, remember the corrections. Only once that was in place did the conversation get permission to write: the newest release has Chord AI constructing and naming audiences from a chat and resuming where the user left off. The direction is a CDP whose primary interface is a conversation rather than a builder UI.
Audiences are the first CDP object to become conversational, so activation — sending those audiences to destinations — is the natural next candidate, alongside Copilot Next reaching general availability. The digests are truncated in the feed, so how far the write surface extends is not yet visible.
