Immediate practical payoffs: stream moves can be cancelled mid-flight, nodes can be evacuated cleanly during maintenance, and disaster recovery no longer requires manual cluster intervention. v2.15.0-RC.1 is the inflection point; the 2.14.x work feeds directly into a stable foundation for it.
v2.15.0 stable should ship within weeks given the RC trajectory. The new 1000-consumer-per-stream default limit introduced in 2.15 will require existing deployments to audit their stream configs before upgrading — that migration story will define how smoothly adoption goes.
