What is Code.org?

Sprite Lab arrives in Lab2, and the day's second tag carries nothing at all.

Code.org deploys most weekdays, each tag a flat list of commit subjects. This window moves Sprite Lab into Lab2 — music, gravity, image updates and fixes arriving together — adds quiz-building controllers as part three of the assessments backend rework, and gives Python theater a functional API. Underneath, table replication is moving off Database Migration Service onto Zero ETL exports to Redshift, and the Turnstile bot check swapped an experiment flag for a DCDO-driven mode with outcome metrics attached. The 09-01 pair is a single release: both tags carry a byte-identical change list.

Sprite Lab arrives in Lab2, and the day's second tag carries nothing at all.

◆ Current state

◆ Where it's heading

The Lab2 migration has moved from plumbing to porting whole labs, and Sprite Lab is the largest one to make the trip so far. The assessments rework is running to a numbered plan — tables, then models, then controllers — which is a rewrite being staged rather than a feature being added. The build system is being worked on in parallel, with rspack now optional and source maps on by default, and the data pipeline is consolidating on Zero ETL rather than per-table replication jobs.

◆ Prediction

Quiz-building controllers are the third numbered step of the backend rework, so the next visible move is the teacher-facing quiz surface those controllers exist to serve. The commit-subject format gives no dates.
