What is ClearML?

ClearML 2.2 turns operational knobs into config: compression, retries, logging, container-aware CPU.

After a summer of hyperdataset lifecycle work and SDK input hardening, 2.2.0 is an operations release. It adds a configurable zip compression algorithm for dataset chunks and artifacts, environment and vault overrides for API retry settings, switches to disable stdout/stderr capture and resource monitoring, and reports CPU against the container's cgroup limit. Fixes close a shell-escaping injection path in the autoscaler driver and stop the cache from evicting files another worker is still reading.

What is Recall?

Recall gives its chat and MCP-connected apps exact-phrase search and whole-card reading.

The 2 November release changes how Recall retrieves rather than what it stores: chat, which used to search only by meaning, can now match exact words and read whole cards, and apps such as Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor get the same tools through the Recall MCP server. Users can now see and manage which apps are connected. Gmail saving works better and age-restricted YouTube videos can be saved. September's work was about intake: EPUB books, multi-image cards, OCR on social posts and 1,000-link CSV imports.

ClearML 2.2 turns operational knobs into config: compression, retries, logging, container-aware CPU.

◆ Current state

After a summer of hyperdataset lifecycle work and SDK input hardening, 2.2.0 is an operations release. It adds a configurable zip compression algorithm for dataset chunks and artifacts, environment and vault overrides for API retry settings, switches to disable stdout/stderr capture and resource monitoring, and reports CPU against the container's cgroup limit. Fixes close a shell-escaping injection path in the autoscaler driver and stop the cache from evicting files another worker is still reading.

◆ Where it's heading

The SDK is shifting from adding hyperdataset verbs to making existing pieces behave correctly in containerised, multi-worker production setups. Security fixes continue to land as a steady background stream rather than as headline features, and Python 2 compatibility is being removed.

◆ Prediction

Expect more runtime configuration surfaced through environment variables and vault, plus further cleanup now that Python 2 support is being dropped.

5.0

Recall gives its chat and MCP-connected apps exact-phrase search and whole-card reading.

◆ Current state

The 2 November release changes how Recall retrieves rather than what it stores: chat, which used to search only by meaning, can now match exact words and read whole cards, and apps such as Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor get the same tools through the Recall MCP server. Users can now see and manage which apps are connected. Gmail saving works better and age-restricted YouTube videos can be saved. September's work was about intake: EPUB books, multi-image cards, OCR on social posts and 1,000-link CSV imports.

◆ Where it's heading

After two months of adding new things to save, Recall is now working on getting answers back out of a large library, both in its own chat and in outside assistants. Treating MCP as a main access path, with controls over connected apps, suggests the library is meant to serve other AI tools as well as Recall's own interface.

◆ Prediction

Expect more MCP-facing controls, such as per-app permissions or write access, along with more retrieval fixes for large knowledge bases, which this release already names as a focus.
