Parse Server
Parse Server opens a 9.10.6 line and keeps closing read-access leaks one advisory at a time.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of CircleCI and Huginn — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
CircleCI now sizes parallelism to the tests Smarter Testing actually selects.
Smarter Testing is GA, metering test impact analysis, dynamic splitting and auto-rerun per test atom while basic runs stay free. Dynamic Parallelism, now experimental, lets an upstream job count selected tests and start only the nodes needed, optionally aiming at a target wall-clock time. Scoped Personal API Tokens (read, write, admin) end the era of every token carrying admin access, and more AWS fallback regions plus Gen2 Arm and spot-tolerant runners keep compute cheaper and steadier.
Huginn wakes from a four-year silence and spends it hardening multi-user instances.
After no releases between August 2022 and August 2026, Huginn has shipped seven dated releases in seven weeks. The first two were security releases: command injection, cross-user OAuth binding, arbitrary file reads, and same-origin script execution. Later releases added an egress proxy against internal-address fetches, a JSONPath method allowlist, a separate-process job runner with a watchdog, and moves to Ruby 4, MySQL 8.4 and PostgreSQL 18.

The test-intelligence layer is starting to drive resource allocation, not just test selection: picking fewer tests now also means paying for fewer nodes. Underneath, CircleCI keeps cutting compute cost and fragility, and the scoped tokens show security defaults catching up for CI integrations and third-party tools. Routine image work, like the Xcode 27.2 betas, continues alongside.
Expect Dynamic Parallelism to move from the experimental config key toward a default for Smarter Testing users; whether existing admin tokens get a forced migration is not visible in these entries.

The pattern is a maintainer paying down years of security and runtime debt, in that order. Fixes have shifted from advisories toward operational reliability (job recovery, lock timeouts, check deduplication) and deployment cleanup (Heroku-24, dropping OpenShift and Cloud Foundry, a rewritten Docker-first README). Several releases ship breaking defaults with upgrade notes and conservative migrations rather than avoiding change.
Expect more roughly fortnightly dated releases on runtime, dependency and deployment upkeep. The entries show no new Agent types yet, so whether feature work returns is unclear.
