What is Chatwoot?

Chatwoot is building the controls around Captain while voice grows into a full channel.

Chatwoot now spans live chat, email, WhatsApp, social, help center and, since June, voice. The last three months split into two clear tracks: Captain, its AI agent, gaining knowledge upkeep, FAQ mining from resolved conversations, an effectiveness overview, and now per-assistant audience and schedule rules; and everything around the agent seat getting faster to operate - a calls dashboard, clickable report charts, help-center bulk edits, and a keyboard-driven composer.

What is Tatango?

Now part of momoGood, Tatango is repositioning from SMS-only vendor to a 'modern giving' platform.

Tatango was acquired into momoGood in April, and the published content since then is the rollout of a new strategic frame: 'modern giving' that spans more than text messaging. Recent posts mix nonprofit and political SMS thought leadership with explicit narrative moves — that platforms, not channels, separate winning campaigns now. The cadence is steady but consists almost entirely of editorial content, not feature releases.

Chatwoot vs Tatango: editorial side-by-side

C6.3

Chatwoot is building the controls around Captain while voice grows into a full channel.

◆ Current state

Chatwoot now spans live chat, email, WhatsApp, social, help center and, since June, voice. The last three months split into two clear tracks: Captain, its AI agent, gaining knowledge upkeep, FAQ mining from resolved conversations, an effectiveness overview, and now per-assistant audience and schedule rules; and everything around the agent seat getting faster to operate - a calls dashboard, clickable report charts, help-center bulk edits, and a keyboard-driven composer.

◆ Where it's heading

The Captain work has moved past adding capability and into governance and proof: who it is allowed to answer, when it is on duty, and how much agent time it saved against the previous period. That is the shape of a feature being readied for buyers who have to defend deploying it, not for teams trying it out. The human-facing surfaces are moving the other way - not extended but tightened, with the August 27 release given over entirely to not leaving the keyboard.

◆ Prediction

Captain's audience and schedule rules look like the first step into routing rather than the last: the Open queue is currently the only fallback path, and the Overview already counts handoffs. Voice is the other open direction, since it is the one channel the Captain entries never mention.

5.0

Now part of momoGood, Tatango is repositioning from SMS-only vendor to a 'modern giving' platform.

◆ Current state

Tatango was acquired into momoGood in April, and the published content since then is the rollout of a new strategic frame: 'modern giving' that spans more than text messaging. Recent posts mix nonprofit and political SMS thought leadership with explicit narrative moves — that platforms, not channels, separate winning campaigns now. The cadence is steady but consists almost entirely of editorial content, not feature releases.

◆ Where it's heading

The arc is unambiguous: away from positioning as an SMS specialist, toward positioning as one piece of an integrated giving stack. Expect product development to follow the brand work — donation pages, multi-channel orchestration, and AI-assisted message generation are all telegraphed by the recent posts. The political-vs-nonprofit dual messaging suggests momoGood will continue serving both verticals rather than picking one.

◆ Prediction

The next concrete moves are most likely AI message-drafting features built into the platform and tighter integration with non-SMS giving surfaces (donation pages, peer-to-peer, recurring giving) under the momoGood umbrella. A consolidated 'momoGood' product launch superseding the Tatango brand within two to three quarters would be the cleanest expression of the current trajectory.
