Tolgee
Tolgee is back to daily patches after a brief feature turn on billing and Figma.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of Bytebase and GitHub — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
Bytebase is turning database change control into AI-agent access control.
Bytebase ships a minor release roughly every two weeks, alternating feature drops with patch releases. Recent work concentrates on governance: label-driven approval routing, per-object sharing for saved queries, and now a workspace-level policy for what MCP sessions can do. AI features are kept current with model support (GPT-5) rather than reinvented.
GitHub makes stacked pull requests a native workflow, not a third-party habit.
Stacked pull requests are now generally available on GitHub: large changes can be split into dependent PRs that are reviewed independently and merged together. Around it, the platform keeps tightening security plumbing, with new secret-scanning detectors, expiring unvalidated npm trusted-publishing configs, stateless App tokens as the default, and admin visibility into AI Scan enablement. Copilot code review is now callable over REST and GraphQL.

The approval and permission model is being made finer-grained release by release, and MCP is now treated as a first-class access path that needs its own policy. Expect governance controls to keep extending to non-human callers, with the SQL Editor becoming the main surface where access requests, exports and sharing converge.
The next releases likely add audit and approval hooks specific to MCP sessions, building on the new Disabled/Read-only/Read-write policy.

Two lines run in parallel. The review workflow itself is being rebuilt around smaller units of change, with stacked PRs and programmable Copilot review both aimed at making review faster and more automatable. Meanwhile security work keeps moving toward short-lived, verified trust paths and org-wide coverage views.
Expect follow-ups that connect stacked PRs to Copilot review and merge queues, and continued tightening of npm publishing defaults.
