This is a compatibility-maintenance line rather than a development one. The maintainer absorbs churn from two upstreams at once, Hugo and the xfun/knitr toolchain, and occasionally narrows scope to keep that tractable, as with dropping HugoBlox themes from testing in 1.22. The macOS work in 1.23 shows the cost rising: Hugo's new .pkg installer requires a sudo password, so blogdown can no longer fully automate installation there.

Expect the next release to track another Hugo change. The macOS .pkg path is the most likely place for follow-up, since the support just added cannot be automated.

Two different products are being built in the same changelog. The analytics and inbox work extends the suite ContentStudio already sells — more networks, more surfaces, now reachable by API. AI Studio is the newer bet, and it grows by adding output formats rather than by deepening any of them: text to video, photo to talking head, still to motion. The Brand Profile is the only piece tying those formats to the customer's own material, and it arrived after the generators that needed it.
◆ Prediction
The format additions are arriving faster than the grounding work behind them, so the next useful move is connecting AI Studio output to the scheduling and inbox surfaces rather than adding a fifth generation mode. Nothing in these entries confirms that is planned.
