A side-by-side editorial comparison of AutoGPT and ClearML — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
AutoGPT 0.11 cuts self-hosters over to PostHog and new proxy and payment settings
AutoGPT's platform ships a minor version every week or two, and since September the work has centred on control: AutoPilot gating modes, blocks that declare their effect, and approvals delivered into chat apps. v0.11.0 adds Parallel Decisions blocks and a single Microsoft connection, but its weight is in breaking self-host changes: payment enforcement moves to a backend setting, request bodies cap at 10 MiB, proxies must be listed, and LaunchDarkly is gone in favour of PostHog.
ClearML 2.2 turns operational knobs into config: compression, retries, logging, container-aware CPU.
After a summer of hyperdataset lifecycle work and SDK input hardening, 2.2.0 is an operations release. It adds a configurable zip compression algorithm for dataset chunks and artifacts, environment and vault overrides for API retry settings, switches to disable stdout/stderr capture and resource monitoring, and reports CPU against the container's cgroup limit. Fixes close a shell-escaping injection path in the autoscaler driver and stop the cache from evicting files another worker is still reading.

Two releases in a row have changed how a self-hosted install is configured, after v0.10 put a 2027-01-31 cut-off on External API v1. The team is consolidating the stack (PostHog for flags and traces, design tokens everywhere) and hardening the edges a hosted product needs, such as payments, rate limits and client-IP handling.
Expect the next releases to add rate limits and deprecation warnings around External API v1 ahead of its January cut-off, with more breaking self-host notes along the way.

The SDK is shifting from adding hyperdataset verbs to making existing pieces behave correctly in containerised, multi-worker production setups. Security fixes continue to land as a steady background stream rather than as headline features, and Python 2 compatibility is being removed.
Expect more runtime configuration surfaced through environment variables and vault, plus further cleanup now that Python 2 support is being dropped.
