A side-by-side editorial comparison of Adapty and Purchasely — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
Adapty is handing paywall construction to coding agents and adding a credits economy underneath
Adapty's Flow & Paywall Builder is now the centre of the product, and August pointed a coding agent at it: a flow-generator skill lets Claude Code, Codex or Copilot CLI read a flow config through the CLI, rewrite it and preview the result. Alongside that, virtual currencies gave the platform a credits primitive, and Refund Saver reached Google Play as chargebacks there started costing developers real money.
Purchasely 6.0 rewrites how the SDK starts, presents screens and controls the purchase flow
The 6.0 SDK is a major release that modernizes initialization, screen presentation, action handling and purchase-flow control across every supported platform, and adds 12-month commitment offers and personalized tags. It follows a long 5.x line that built out screen orchestration — the Screen Composer, Campaigns, Flows, Web Checkout, bring-your-own-screen and conditional visibility.

Two directions are running together. Monetization is broadening past subscriptions into balances and consumables, and authoring is moving from the dashboard toward the terminal and the agent. The one-click legacy paywall migration signals the old builder is being retired rather than maintained.
Expect the agent skill to extend from flows into the rest of the CLI surface — products, placements, campaigns — so a whole monetization setup can be generated and reviewed as config.

Purchasely has spent two years making paywall screens more composable and is now paying down the integration surface those features accumulated. Web Checkouts progression from iOS to Android shows the usual pattern: capability lands on one platform, then reaches parity a release or two later.
With initialization and presentation reworked, expect the next releases to be migration support and platform parity for the 6.0 API rather than new screen capability.
