Project tools rebuilt around agents, led by Rize's redesign and NocoBase's rebuilt agent conversations.

The week in project-management

Rebuilds and AI layers set the week's direction. Rize shipped what it calls its biggest release, a redesign plus a web app and an AI agent reachable by @mention across every view. NocoBase rebuilt agent conversations in its 3.0 betas, and Hive added Buzz as an AI approver. Work-management products are being reorganized around agents.

The second pattern is client-facing and cross-team access. Hive launched an External Review Portal for clients and vendors, and RentRedi added a permission to let teammates read every tenant conversation.

Leaders

Rize rebuilt itself on October 20. A new design system and table-based views replace the old layout, a web app joins the desktop client, and the Rize AI agent reaches dashboards, people, clients and projects through @mentions and runs on schedules through Routines. Meetings with transcripts, tracked automatically with Fathom and Granola, are in beta.

NocoBase runs two tracks. Its agent-driven app stack, shipped as dated betas, added an OnlineAgent server foundation with versioned conversation configuration in the October 20.1 beta and removed the old conversation start, fallback and restore operations without aliases. Beta 2026-10-20.2 followed with ten-language catalogues and clearer role-permission screens.

Hive shipped an External Review Portal where clients and vendors see every pending proof from every Hive company they work with. The October 21 batch also added a Map widget, personal per-assignee reminders in a unified Dates field and collapsible media in chat.

Tracecat took its 1.2 line from alpha to stable between October 15 and 16, with sub-cases, case search, workflow forms, a prebuilt skills library and enterprise Pangolin tunnel gateways. 1.2.1 followed with fixes for select-field options lost on case edit and dialog regressions.

Wildcards

RentRedi is the practical outlier: Maintenance Projects for every account, one-click PDF rent receipts, a Manual/Online payment filter, the Company Chats permission and, on October 19, a Light/Dark/System theme on the web app.

Camunda is mostly release plumbing, but 8.10.3-rc1 fixes a follower deleting committed entries during snapshot install and backup retention removing the last full checkpoint.

Themes that compounded

Watch this week

Tracecat 1.2.1 patched regressions from a two-day sprint, so another patch is plausible. NocoBase is shipping dated betas daily, and its removal of old conversation operations is the change most likely to produce follow-up fixes. Rize just landed a full redesign, so early feedback fixes are the likeliest next entries.
