Teable and Double open their workspaces to outside agents through OAuth and MCP connectors

The week in collaboration

Collaboration tools spent the week opening themselves to outside agents. Teable shipped an official MCP server that Claude Code, Codex and Cursor connect to through OAuth, and Double made Ask Double Connectors available to all users, including any MCP server a customer adds. The workspace is becoming a tool surface for agents the vendor does not control.

The second pattern is the long beta. Wiki.js is still labelled not for production but keeps adding enterprise features, and SiYuan moved from six alphas in four days to a first beta. In the self-hosted corner, release cadence is the product signal.

Leaders

Teable is the sharpest example of the week. Its official MCP server replaces pasted tokens with guided OAuth, and self-hosted instances serve it at /mcp. Admins can also set CPU, memory and disk separately for AI chat, bot and routine sandboxes, so the agent layer comes with its own resource controls.

Double put its assistant on Xero clients in a read-only beta and added Consolidations, a beta for multi-entity QuickBooks Online clients. Connectors going general availability earlier in the month is what makes the Xero reach plausible.

Wiki.js released 3.0 beta.672 with inline math and personal access tokens, and raised the floor to Postgres 17. The beta has accumulated Excalidraw live collaboration, SCIM provisioning and a v2 import path, so the case for moving off 2.x, now security-patch only, keeps getting stronger.

Skedda launched a public API in beta, read-only and limited to bookings, and its Companion 1.2 can now be pushed to laptops through MDM. A booking product is turning into a data source.

Wildcards

Nextcloud cut 35.0.2, 34.0.5 and 33.0.10 on the same day, a month after 35.0.0 replaced OnlyOffice with Euro-Office. Three supported lines patched at once is a maintenance rhythm few collaboration vendors keep.

SiYuan rolled Gemini support, DeepSeek search and fetch tools for agents, and database automation into 3.8.8 beta 1, going its own way on model choice.

Syncthing shipped only release candidates, 2.1.6 through four and 2.1.7 on its third, hardening the sync protocol against bad data.

Themes that compounded

  • External agent access: OAuth MCP at Teable, any-MCP connectors at Double.
  • Enterprise identity landing in open-source tools: SCIM and OIDC/SAML claims at Wiki.js.
  • Public APIs arriving in tools that were closed: read-only booking access at Skedda.
  • Release-candidate and canary discipline at Syncthing, Nextcloud and AFFiNE, the latter fixing blob uploads after quota changes.

Watch this week

Watch Teable and Double for write access: both agent integrations are read-leaning or recently opened, and the next release will show whether agents can change data. Also watch whether SiYuan's 3.8.8 beta stabilizes after the alpha burst, and whether Syncthing's 2.1.7 candidate becomes a final tag.
