Developer experience platform with merge queue, flaky test detection, and CI analytics

Trunk is methodically maturing Merge Queue and Flaky Tests into enterprise-grade CI infrastructure.

Current state
Trunk's recent work is almost entirely incremental hardening of its two core products: Merge Queue and Flaky Tests. The cadence shows a clear enterprise-readiness pattern — a Terraform provider, public API endpoints, Prometheus-compatible metrics, multiple queues per repo, and deeper Slack and Jira integration. Nothing here redefines the product; it's the steady filling-in of operational and integration gaps larger teams require.
Where it's heading
Trunk is making Merge Queue programmable and observable: APIs, IaC, metrics endpoints, and richer dashboards point at customers who manage CI at scale and want it wired into their existing tooling. Flaky Tests is gaining automation hooks (Jira issue creation, configurable threshold monitors) that move it from detection toward workflow.
Prediction
Expect continued API, metrics, and integration depth on Merge Queue, and more automated remediation paths for Flaky Tests, as Trunk leans into programmability for larger engineering orgs.

Recent moves

Merge Queue: Drill Down Into Merge Metrics

Drill-down into merge metrics gives teams finer visibility into Merge Queue performance, consistent with Trunk's push to make CI bottlenecks measurable for larger orgs.

    Merge Queue: Terraform Provider

A Terraform provider lets teams manage Merge Queue as code — a clear enterprise-readiness signal aimed at platform teams who provision tooling through IaC.

Flaky Tests: Automatically Create Jira Issues from Webhooks

Auto-creating Jira issues from Flaky Tests webhooks moves the product from flagging flakes toward routing them into existing engineering workflows.

Merge Queue: Testing Details API Now Includes Impacted Target Information

The Testing Details API now returns impacted-target information, giving programmatic consumers richer context — part of Trunk's steady API buildout around Merge Queue.

Merge Queue: Slack App Home Tab

A Slack App Home tab is a minor surface addition for Merge Queue notifications — convenient, but not a meaningful change to capability.

Merge Queue: Multiple Queues Per Repo with Grouped Selector

Support for multiple queues per repo with a grouped selector lets teams partition merge traffic within a single repository — a real scaling option for large monorepos.
