Smart Ordering: optimised payment method display at checkout
Paddle begins rolling out Smart Ordering, which decides how payment methods are ranked at Billing checkouts rather than leaving the order fixed. It fits the conversion-tuning half of the roadmap and continues a shift toward Paddle making checkout decisions on the seller's behalf. The announcement carries no conversion figures, so the size of the effect is unstated.

Reduce API key risk with automatic rotation in AWS Secrets Manager
Paddle API keys can now be rotated automatically through AWS Secrets Manager, removing the manual create-replace-revoke cycle. This is platform hygiene for larger sellers rather than checkout work, and sits alongside the buyer self-service changes as evidence Paddle is servicing accounts that have outgrown hand operation.

Google Pay is now live on express checkout in Paddle Billing
Google Pay is promoted to a main button on express checkout for eligible buyers, subject to device, browser and wallet setup. Another entry in the conversion column: fewer taps at the payment step, no change to the underlying billing model.

New Checkouts report: understand the data behind your Checkout conversion rate
A new Checkouts report gives sellers session-level data behind their checkout conversion rate. It pairs with the Chargebacks dashboard from the same stretch: Paddle is opening up the numbers it already holds, which is also what makes conversion features like Smart Ordering measurable to the seller.

UPI AutoPay is now available in Paddle Billing

This is the coverage lane of the roadmap — the same lane as the Ivory Coast tax support — applied to a market where card-based recurring billing does not work well.

Paid trials are now available in Paddle Billing
⚡ SPARKPaid trials add a billing model rather than refine one: customers pay a trial charge at signup and roll onto the full recurring price when it ends. Against a quarter of conversion tuning and rail coverage, this is the one release that changed what a seller can charge for, not just how well the charge converts.
