What is TAO Testing?

TAO keeps shipping one-fix patches on 56.14 ahead of its November LTS.

TAO's core is in a pre-LTS patch cycle on the 56.14 line. The two newest releases each carry a single fix: 56.14.10 writes the task log entry before a task is queued, and 56.14.9 removes legacy desktop notifications from the build. Earlier October patches fixed Resource Manager loading and search.

T5.0

TAO keeps shipping one-fix patches on 56.14 ahead of its November LTS.

◆ Current state

TAO's core is in a pre-LTS patch cycle on the 56.14 line. The two newest releases each carry a single fix: 56.14.10 writes the task log entry before a task is queued, and 56.14.9 removes legacy desktop notifications from the build. Earlier October patches fixed Resource Manager loading and search.

◆ Where it's heading

Since the start of October, every release has been a small correction, with ten 56.14 patches so far. The 2026-11 LTS appears to be the target, and nothing in the feed shows new assessment features.

◆ Prediction

Expect a few more single-fix 56.14 patches and then the November LTS cut.

2.5

Tutor 21.0.10 drops trust in the compromised eMudhra CA across its Open edX images.

◆ Current state

Tutor, the Docker-based distribution for running Open edX, shipped v21.0.10 as a security patch. It upgrades certifi, pip, uv and Node.js 24 in the Open edX image, along with Caddy, so deployments stop trusting the compromised eMudhra/emSign CA certificates. It is the only entry tracked so far.

◆ Where it's heading

With one patch release in view, the clearest signal is that the 21.x line is maintained and security fixes reach it quickly. The entries don't yet show where Tutor's feature work is heading.

◆ Prediction

Expect more 21.0.x patches; one entry isn't enough to predict the next feature release.
