NetBird's v0.81 reaches rc.3 with nothing left but cleanup.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of Semgrep and Sonarr — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
Semgrep stops dropping unpinned Python deps from its inventory
Semgrep ships weekly, and Supply Chain carries most of the substantive work: Bazel Maven workspaces in 1.177, Bun lockfiles in 1.179, and now every requirements.txt line in 1.181, pinned or not. 1.180 turned to the matcher, promoting Dart to GA and removing QL as a target language. 1.181 also widens Go generics and Hack parsing.
Sonarr's 5.0 builds now block executables and risky files by default.
Sonarr is iterating on 5.0 builds while 4.0.x receives only occasional patches. The 5.0.0.2569 rollup removed Basic Auth, defunct IMDb lists and Kometa metadata and moved screens to React Query. Three days later, 5.0.0.2608 fails executables and potentially dangerous files by default for most indexers, fails torrents whose rejected extensions qBittorrent skipped, and addresses early v5 UI feedback. The feed still picks up Weblate translation tags from Prowlarr and Radarr that contain no Sonarr changes.

Two tracks run in parallel: dependency coverage that reflects how repos are actually declared rather than how a resolver would pin them, and deeper parsing for languages Semgrep already supports. 1.181 reports unpinned Python deps in the SBOM but produces no findings for them yet, which leaves an open gap the team has flagged with 'for now'.
Expect the next Bazel ecosystem (rules_python or rules_go, named in the 1.177 notes) and a follow-up that turns unpinned Python requirements into findings, likely by resolving a version from range specifiers.

5.0 is shaping up as a hardening release: legacy auth and integrations removed, and safer handling of what downloads are allowed to land. The quick follow-up build responding to UI feedback suggests 5.0 is in active testing with users rather than a long-lived branch.
Expect more 5.0.0 builds tightening download safety and polishing the new UI; when 5.0 replaces 4.x as the default track is not clear from these entries.
