Axiom
Axiom is rebuilding observability so an AI agent, not a human, can be the first user.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of RStudio and AgencyAnalytics — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
The AI assistant is now something the IDE has to clean up after.
RStudio's release feed is raw commit subjects off release branches rather than curated notes — several entries are a single truncated line, and one is just a branch update. The substantive commits in this window cluster around Posit Assistant: gating .positai and .claude ignore-file augmentation on whether those directories actually exist, and adding SHA-256 integrity verification for Posit Assistant package downloads.
AgencyAnalytics is rebuilding itself around AgencyAI, and just gave it a reusable skill layer.
Reporting features are still shipping, with a Shares tab that consolidates every email, scheduled send, link, and PDF download per report. But the center of gravity has moved to AgencyAI. Skills now let agencies run premade prompts or save their own repeatable instructions and share them across the account, the client Data tab has been consolidated into the context substrate AgencyAI answers from, and AI Tracker sells AI search visibility as a metered add-on.

The assistant is enabled by default and is starting to leave marks on projects that never asked for it — the ignore-file fix exists because .positai and .claude were being written into .Rbuildignore, .gitignore and svn:ignore in every project regardless of use. That is the characteristic second phase of shipping an AI feature: not building it, but containing its side effects. Alongside that, the notebook and console output work continues, with a data.table auto-print regression traced back to a print override change several releases earlier.
Expect further Posit Assistant containment and supply-chain work, since two of the six visible commits are already about its filesystem footprint and download integrity rather than its capabilities.

The pieces fit together as a deliberate platform build: consolidate client context in one place, then give the assistant reusable, team-shared procedures that run against it. That moves AgencyAI from a question box toward something agencies configure once and run repeatedly across a client portfolio. The two upstream deprecations in the window, Microsoft Ads Impression Share and the Meta Graph API v25 metric changes, are the maintenance cost of sitting on top of ad-platform APIs, and both were handled by removing untrustworthy data rather than estimating it.
With context centralized and skills shareable, scheduled or triggered skill runs are the natural next step, turning saved procedures into recurring portfolio monitoring. The entries hint at more client-context features in the Data tab but do not say what they are.
