The underlying CPaaS business barely surfaces in the feed; Number Reputation is the only recent entry that reads as classic telecom.

Two moves are running in parallel. First, Telnyx is commoditizing the model layer: GPT-5.4-mini, NVIDIA Parakeet, Fish Audio, Deepgram Flux, and Arabic speech models all arrived within a month, positioning Telnyx as the place you assemble a voice agent rather than the place that supplies its intelligence. Parakeet is explicitly self-hosted with no third-party API hop, and UAE joins the list of regions where inference runs on Telnyx hardware — owning the network and the GPUs is the actual moat, not the models. Second, the assistants are being made production-credible: instruction-following and satisfaction scoring, filler speech during slow tool calls, and tunable interruption prediction so backchannels stop cutting the agent off.

Expect more inference regions and more model options at the current cadence, with the client-side tool surface likely extending to richer browser context and more first-party integrations. The evaluation insights are the piece most likely to grow into a fuller agent-ops product.
