What is Rootly?

Rootly's AI stops summarizing incidents and starts investigating them

Rootly's newest release lets its AI pull evidence directly from observability, code, infrastructure, feature flag, ticketing and documentation tools, over read-only connections that store nothing. That follows the agent moving into the web app as a chat panel on every incident, and retrospective templates whose AI blocks draft from incident data, Slack and call transcripts with every prompt and source visible. The on-call side is quieter: a sidebar widget, 24-hour time, a customizable alerts table, and a one-command setup that pages your phone to prove it worked.

What is Helm?

Helm runs two trains while v3 walks toward end-of-life

Helm maintains parallel v3.21.x and v4.2.x lines, releasing patches on both within minutes of each other. The v3 releases now carry an explicit end-of-life warning directing users to v4. Release notes are mostly boilerplate community links, with a short Notable Changes list when anything is worth naming.

Rootly's AI stops summarizing incidents and starts investigating them

◆ Current state

Rootly's newest release lets its AI pull evidence directly from observability, code, infrastructure, feature flag, ticketing and documentation tools, over read-only connections that store nothing. That follows the agent moving into the web app as a chat panel on every incident, and retrospective templates whose AI blocks draft from incident data, Slack and call transcripts with every prompt and source visible. The on-call side is quieter: a sidebar widget, 24-hour time, a customizable alerts table, and a one-command setup that pages your phone to prove it worked.

◆ Where it's heading

Rootly is building an agent that does the first pass of an investigation rather than writing it up afterward. The consistent design choice is auditability — read-only connections, nothing retained, prompts and sources shown inside the retrospective draft — which is the precondition for letting software touch a live incident. Syncing the Cortex catalog points the same way: the agent reasons from current service ownership instead of a stale wiki.

◆ Prediction

Expect evidence gathering to start producing a ranked hypothesis or a suggested next action, since the connectors now cover everything a human would read during first triage.

Helm runs two trains while v3 walks toward end-of-life

◆ Current state

Helm maintains parallel v3.21.x and v4.2.x lines, releasing patches on both within minutes of each other. The v3 releases now carry an explicit end-of-life warning directing users to v4. Release notes are mostly boilerplate community links, with a short Notable Changes list when anything is worth naming.

◆ Where it's heading

Both trains are in maintenance rather than feature mode. The recurring work is keeping the Kubernetes client libraries current — v1.36 in this window — and fixing concurrency defects in the v4 waiter and kube-client code that surface when install, upgrade, rollback and uninstall run against the same client. Where v4 does add anything, it is small and toolchain-shaped: goreleaser builds, a mustToToml template function, flag deprecations.

◆ Prediction

The dual-patch pattern will continue in lockstep until v3 reaches its announced end-of-life, after which only the v4 line should keep receiving releases. Nothing in these entries indicates a date for that cutover.
