What is Pressable?

A fortnight of bulk operations and a DDEV integration, aimed squarely at agencies

Pressable's changelog is a run of feature-release posts whose bodies are empty in the feed - only the titles carry information, so what follows is read at the level those titles support. In the current window: DDEV setup and management integrated into MyPressable, a bulk site deletion tool with multi-layer confirmation gates, bulk theme installation and deletion, bulk plugin installation, activation and deactivation, AI assistant collaborator management tools, and WordPress beta version selection.

What is Dokku?

Dokku ships patches weekly, and quietly grows a Kubernetes backend under its single-host roots.

Dokku releases on a near-weekly patch cadence, and most entries are dominated by Dependabot bumps to test fixtures. The real content is thin but consistent: a command injection fix in docker options evaluation, per-app Let's Encrypt emails on k3s, atomic buildpack list replacement, custom chown values, and JSON output added to apps:list, ps:scale and docker-options reports. Several tags in early July were published within minutes of each other and out of version order.

A fortnight of bulk operations and a DDEV integration, aimed squarely at agencies

◆ Current state

Pressable's changelog is a run of feature-release posts whose bodies are empty in the feed - only the titles carry information, so what follows is read at the level those titles support. In the current window: DDEV setup and management integrated into MyPressable, a bulk site deletion tool with multi-layer confirmation gates, bulk theme installation and deletion, bulk plugin installation, activation and deactivation, AI assistant collaborator management tools, and WordPress beta version selection.

◆ Where it's heading

Four of the six releases are bulk operations across sites, themes and plugins. That is the profile of a host whose customers are agencies running many WordPress installs rather than individuals running one, and whose main cost is repetitive per-site clicking. The multi-layer confirmation on bulk deletion is the tell that they expect these tools to be used on real estate that matters. The DDEV integration extends the same logic backwards into local development, while beta version selection serves the subset of customers who test before WordPress core ships.

◆ Prediction

More bulk and fleet-management operations are the natural continuation - bulk user or collaborator actions would fit the pattern set by the plugin and theme tooling. The empty post bodies mean the depth of each release cannot be assessed from this feed.

Dokku ships patches weekly, and quietly grows a Kubernetes backend under its single-host roots.

◆ Current state

Dokku releases on a near-weekly patch cadence, and most entries are dominated by Dependabot bumps to test fixtures. The real content is thin but consistent: a command injection fix in docker options evaluation, per-app Let's Encrypt emails on k3s, atomic buildpack list replacement, custom chown values, and JSON output added to apps:list, ps:scale and docker-options reports. Several tags in early July were published within minutes of each other and out of version order.

◆ Where it's heading

Two threads carry through. The scheduler-k3s plugin keeps accumulating what a real platform needs — helm chart previews, autoscaling auth state, control-plane node matching, per-app certificate configuration — which pushes Dokku beyond the single-host Docker tool it started as. The second is machine readability: command after command gains --format json, turning the CLI into something automation can consume rather than parse.

◆ Prediction

Expect JSON output to keep spreading command by command until it is the norm rather than a flag, and expect the k3s scheduler to stay the destination for new capability while the Docker scheduler receives fixes. The patch train shows no sign of consolidating into a minor release.
