Managed WordPress hosting by Automattic with staging, CDN and the Pressable control panel

After a month of bulk tooling, Pressable is hardening what the fleet stores and how sites are named.

Current state
Pressable's feed carries titles only — every body is an empty [...] stub, so scope has to be read from headlines. On that basis the last month runs in two phases: a burst of fleet-wide bulk operations through late July, then the AI assistant gaining multi-site collaborator management in early August. The two newest releases move elsewhere: encrypted site environment variables, and flexible site naming with real-time checks.
Where it's heading
The direction is a hosting panel becoming a fleet console, then handing that console to an assistant. Bulk plugin, theme and site operations built the primitives; multi-site collaborator management put privileged access control behind the assistant; global MCP token revocation earlier in the month suggests the agent surface is being given its own credential lifecycle. Encrypted environment variables fit the same maturation — agencies running many sites need per-site secrets that are not in wp-config.
Prediction
Encrypted environment variables and MCP token revocation both point toward a broader secrets and credential story, so expect environment variables to surface in the AI assistant and the CLI next. The empty feed bodies mean scope cannot be confirmed from this source.

Feature Release: Encrypted Site Environment Variables

Encrypted environment variables give sites a place to hold secrets outside wp-config, which matters most to the multi-site agencies this fleet tooling has been built for. The entry body is empty, so key handling and scoping cannot be judged from the feed.

Feature Release: Flexible Site Naming and Real-Time Checks

Flexible site naming with real-time checks removes a longstanding friction in provisioning many sites at once. Consistent with the fleet-management arc, though the empty body leaves the naming constraints unstated.

Feature Release: Multi-Site Collaborator Management via AI Assistant

    ⚡ SPARK

The pivot point of this window: the assistant stops describing the fleet and starts changing who can reach it, across every site at once.

Feature Release: Pressable DDEV Setup and Management Integrated Directly into MyPressable

DDEV setup and management move into the MyPressable dashboard, tightening the local-to-production loop for developers. A real workflow addition, though the empty body hides how much of DDEV is actually driven from the panel.

Feature Release: Bulk Site Deletion Tool with Multi-Layer Confirmation Gates

Bulk site deletion with multi-layer confirmation gates. The gates are the notable half — destructive fleet operations arriving in the same window the assistant gained privileged access.

Feature Release: Bulk Theme Installation & Deletion Operations

Bulk theme installation and deletion, one of the run of fleet-wide operations shipped across late July. Incremental on its own, cumulative as a set.
