Holistics
Holistics is turning its BI layer into a place where AI runs on a schedule.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of NocoDB and OpenCTI — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
NocoDB is turning itself into a database that AI agents can operate, one MCP release at a time.
In one month NocoDB went from a record-level MCP server to 149 tools in the Claude connector directory, then to 199 tools on one account-wide connection covering member management, uploads and upserts. Alongside this, it is building an app layer on top of bases: Interfaces, dual-axis dashboard charts, realtime presence, and calendar sync.
OpenCTI ships near-daily, steering security coverage and AI work through XTM One.
OpenCTI is on a calendar-versioned release train, often several builds a week, mixing analyst-facing features with heavy test, stream, and CI hardening. The newest build adds quota and feedback to the embedded chatbot and one-click investigation duplication, and fixes stream-processing and security-coverage bugs. The LTS line just took a security sweep covering access control and public dashboards.

Two tracks are converging: humans use NocoDB through Interfaces and dashboards, and agents operate it through a broad, role-scoped MCP surface. The newer capabilities sit behind Cloud and paid tiers, while the Community Edition keeps the basics.
Expect MCP coverage to keep expanding toward full admin parity, likely including workflow and Interface tools, with more of it restricted to paid plans.

Two threads keep tightening. Security coverage is becoming a hands-on workflow, with manual coverage entities, re-linkable TTPs, and now fixes so enrichment no longer wipes results. The AI layer is maturing from a feature into a managed service, routed through XTM One and now showing users their quota and keeping their feedback.
Expect more chatbot controls (quotas, usage, feedback loops) and further security-coverage fixes, alongside continued LTS security backports on the 7.2608 line.
