SiYuan
SiYuan's 3.8.8 alphas keep layering database automation and editor polish on Gemini support.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of Markup.io and Wiki.js — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
Markup.io's feed has been silent since November 2024 — roughly 18 months dark, no releases visible.
All 10 visible entries are blog posts from July through November 2024 covering design review, creative approval, video annotation, and content workflow topics. Nothing has been published to this feed in roughly 18 months. There are no product release notes anywhere in the visible history — only marketing content from before the publishing pause.
Wiki.js 3.0 beta adds math, personal access tokens and nav automations; Postgres 17 now required.
Wiki.js runs two tracks: 2.x stable, which now gets only security patches, and a 3.0 beta still labeled 'not for production'. Over the past month the beta added Excalidraw live collaboration, SCIM provisioning, notifications, annotations, a glossary, draft recovery and multi-replica git sync. The newest beta adds inline KaTeX/MathJax math, personal access tokens, navigation-menu automations and search suggestions, and raises the minimum database to PostgreSQL 17.

The publishing pause coincides with what looks like a company or product transition; Markup.io was a video and design markup tool whose public surface has gone fully dormant. With no releases or even marketing content shipping, the product's public signal is effectively zero through this channel. Either communication has moved to private channels or the product itself has wound down.
Without a fresh entry, Markup.io is a candidate for archival or repositioning rather than active monitoring; expect no editorial signal unless the product is reactivated.

Headline features are in place, and recent betas fill out editor ergonomics, identity and API plumbing, and operational safety rather than adding new editors. Personal access tokens and API keys bound to page rules extend the access model to automation clients, and the Postgres 17 floor shows the team is still willing to set hard infrastructure requirements before 3.0 locks.
More betas pairing editor and admin polish with API, multi-node and v2-import fixes are the likely next step. The entries still give no date for 3.0 dropping its beta label.
