Junip replaces its Claude integration with an MCP server any AI platform can use.
Junip is a Shopify product reviews app whose recent releases were mostly operational: a new spam model, faster metafield syncs and the move to App Embed. Junip MCP v2 changes its AI surface. Merchants can connect any AI platform to read and reply to reviews, and the earlier Claude integration is being deprecated. Arabic with right-to-left layouts and a 5-star total in Analytics also shipped in October.
Spree 6.0 turns an open-source storefront into a marketplace and B2B platform
Spree 6.0 shipped on 27 October as a rewrite of Spree Core, with a 6.0.1 patch two days later. The release adds multi-vendor marketplace operations (seller onboarding, commissions, split payments through Stripe Connect, a seller dashboard and API), B2B features such as company hierarchies, per-customer catalogs, order minimums and purchase-order capture, cross-border tax handling, purchase orders and stock reservation, and an Admin MCP server. The 6.0 release candidates also carried a batch of Store and Admin API security fixes.

Junip is moving its review workflow out to whichever assistant a merchant already uses, rather than building a single-vendor integration. It said more admin tools are coming to the MCP, which would extend agent access past reviews. Store-health work and language expansion continue beneath that.
Expect more admin tools on the MCP, as Junip has flagged, and the richer metafield sync from September. When 2.0 reaches GA is unclear from these entries.

Spree has moved from a headless storefront engine toward full commerce operations: marketplace, wholesale, warehousing and tax. Its developer surface keeps shifting to TypeScript packages and React dashboards, with Admin and Seller APIs now deprecating fields instead of removing them.
Expect 6.0.x patches to keep consuming pending changesets; Spree Enterprise previews in the dashboard suggest paid tiers built on 6.0 features.
