Loki's operator 0.12 tightens storage schemas and adds OpenShift 5.0 TLS compliance.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of InfluxDB and OpenHouse — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
InfluxDB 3.12 brings GA auth and RBAC, then patches lost-write bugs within two weeks.
InfluxDB 3.12.0 made user authentication and role-based access control generally available in Enterprise, added distributed compaction in beta and per-database schema enforcement, and sped up bulk import; it also writes a catalog record that 3.11 can't read, so rollback needs a backup. 3.12.1 and 3.11.7 followed with fixes for a catalog that failed to load after upgrade and for acknowledged writes lost after a forced snapshot and restart. 3.11.5 had introduced the age-based snapshot trigger that exposed that race.
OpenHouse starts native Iceberg views with a commit-only engine.
OpenHouse is LinkedIn's open-source control plane for Iceberg tables and tags a release per merged PR. After a run of build and test plumbing (Gradle 8, classifier jars, MySQL-backed optimizer tests), v0.5.522 adds a ViewCommitEngine, the first milestone of native Iceberg view support, and v0.5.523 makes column defaults fail loudly when they can't be applied.

After months of data-correctness patching, InfluxDB 3 is shipping enterprise features again: access control, schema enforcement and scale-out compaction. The patch lines still carry serious storage-layer fixes, including lost acknowledged writes and overwrite ordering, so correctness work hasn't finished. Two lines, 3.11 and 3.12, now get the same fixes in parallel.
Expect distributed compaction to move toward GA and further 3.12.x patches for upgrade and snapshot edge cases. The entries don't show when 3.11 stops receiving backports.

Two threads are running: the optimizer is being brought to parity with the established services in configuration, observability and testing, and views are being built as a second object type next to tables. The views work is deliberately staged, with commit landing first and load, list, drop and rename deferred to a future views repository.
Expect the next views milestone to add the repository layer for loading, listing and dropping views, which is when views become usable by clients. The entries don't say when the views API will be exposed.
