Loki's operator 0.12 tightens storage schemas and adds OpenShift 5.0 TLS compliance.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of HyperDX and OpenReplay — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
HyperDX now tags every ClickHouse query it runs, so teams can see which dashboard drives the load.
HyperDX ships as a monorepo of versioned packages (app, api, CLI, common-utils, collector), so one release shows up as several changelog entries. The 2.41.0 wave on October 13 adds PromQL heatmaps, a minimum auto granularity on PromQL sources, and query attribution: every ClickHouse and PromQL query carries an hdx- query_id and a JSON log_comment naming the dashboard, tile, search or alert behind it. The API also stops falling back to a public session secret, and AI assistant calls now emit OpenTelemetry GenAI-convention spans.
OpenReplay's 1.27 line is down to chart bumps and a critical dependency patch.
OpenReplay is in maintenance mode on 1.27. Four weeks of releases are mostly automated Helm chart bumps for the chalice, assets, db and sourcemap reader services, plus one page-title persistence fix. The one entry of substance patches a critical proxy-addr vulnerability and a qs update in the sourcemap reader's lockfile, which matters to self-hosters more than any feature change in the window.

Two threads continue: Grafana-style metrics parity (multi-expression PromQL, macros, granularity floors, now heatmaps) and controlling query cost on ClickHouse (bounded Map-key scans, now per-surface query attribution in system.query_log). Security defaults are being tightened for self-hosted deployments, and HyperDX is applying OpenTelemetry's GenAI conventions to its own AI features. The CLI keeps picking up the web app's chart types.
Expect query attribution to show up inside the product, for example per-dashboard cost views or limits, and more PromQL visualization types to catch up with the builder. The entries don't show a timeline for either.

The release stream is automated backup tags with commit-level notes, and the visible work has shifted from analytics correctness (journeys, breakdowns, page titles) in mid-September to dependency hygiene and packaging. That pattern reads as a stable branch being kept secure while larger work happens elsewhere.
Expect more 1.27.x chart bumps and dependency patches. The entries give no sign of what the next minor version contains.
