Timely
Timely adds seat visibility and per-period budgets in a steady run of weekly releases.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of Grype and Strimzi — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
Grype widens distro accuracy while each release clears its own dependency advisories.
Grype's autumn releases stay on matching accuracy. v0.121.0 carries AlmaLinux fix dates onto replaced RHEL matches and finds GitHub Swift advisories it previously missed, v0.120.0 marks SLES as a comprehensive distro and stores NVD SSVC decision points, and v0.119.0 exposes distro-fixed dropped matches through --show-suppressed. Each minor also carries a large dependency sweep, with v0.121.0 remediating five golang.org/x/net advisories.
Strimzi 1.3 starts encrypting and authenticating Kafka's internal connections.
Strimzi's feed carries release candidates rather than finals. 1.3.0-rc1 on 5 October added early-access configurable encryption and authentication for internal Kafka connections, and 1.3.1-rc1 on 29 October added Kafka 4.3.2 support and fixed concurrency issues left by the Vert.x removal. The 1.2.0 cycle before it brought Kafka 4.3.1, per-pod volume templates and permanently enabled server-side apply.

Accuracy remains the roadmap, and the work is increasingly about distro-specific truth: fix dates, extended support and comprehensive coverage. SSVC data in the database is the one new kind of signal, since it adds decision guidance beyond severity. Reachability has still not moved past Go in these notes.
SSVC decision points are stored but not yet described as a user-facing output, so surfacing them in results is the natural next step. These notes give no signal on a second reachability ecosystem.

Since 1.0 removed every CRD API but v1, each minor follows the same pattern: support the newest Kafka, drop the oldest, tighten operator defaults. 1.3 adds security of the cluster's internal traffic to that list.
A 1.4.0 candidate tracking the next Kafka release is the likely next entry, with the internal-security options possibly leaving early access.
