First, resyncing forked Redis code with upstream Valkey — the hyperloglog resync pulled in a CVE fix for run-length overflow in sparse opcodes plus AVX2 and ARM NEON merge kernels, and exposed three Dragonfly-local bugs in the process. Second, correctness in the v1 and v2 IO loops: a pub/sub ordering defect where anti-starvation quota logic could run a pipelined UNSUBSCRIBE ahead of queued messages and silently drop them. Third, ongoing internal migration of command handlers to a new argument parser.

What is Prowler?

Prowler is turning its scanner into an agent that can operate the platform, and charging for it.

Prowler ships roughly weekly, alternating feature minors with patch releases of API, UI and SDK fixes. The dominant thread across the last two months is Lighthouse AI, which went from a chat assistant reading findings (5.33.0) to one that takes actions (5.35.0) to one that reaches every tool family the Prowler MCP server exposes, including users and roles (5.37.0). Around it, the platform side has been filling in security-operations workflow: findings triage with lifecycle states, Jira dispatch for finding groups, and Attack Paths query tracking.

The fork-maintenance thread is the structural one — Dragonfly carries Valkey-derived code that drifts, and resyncing is how it inherits both security fixes and SIMD performance work it did not write. Running two IO loop generations at once is the current source of risk, visible in tests that had to be skipped on the v1 leg and in an ordering bug that only appeared after v1.38 changed the dispatch quota. Neither thread is adding user-facing capability; this is a window of consolidation.

Expect the v2 IO loop to move toward default as the ordering and pause-semantics gaps close, and further upstream resyncs of forked Redis files now that the hyperloglog sync established a formatting convention to keep them cheap.

The open-source CLI scanner is becoming the data layer for a paid agentic product. The 5.34.0 renaming made the split explicit — Prowler CLI and Prowler Hub stay open, while Cloud, Private Cloud, Lighthouse AI and MCP are the commercial surface — and every Lighthouse release since carries a subscription-only note. The technical bet is that RBAC is a sufficient safety boundary for an agent: Lighthouse can do whatever the asking user could do, which is what allows it to be handed administrative tools rather than read-only ones.

◆ Prediction

Expect the next Lighthouse releases to push into unattended operation — scheduled or event-triggered agent runs rather than chat-initiated ones — since scan scheduling and alert rules are now inside its reach. Continued patch releases fixing Attack Paths graph behaviour on Neo4j and Neptune suggest that subsystem is still settling.
