OpenStatus
OpenStatus scopes API keys per resource and lets its MCP server set up monitors.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of DNSimple and Inspektor Gadget — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
DNSimple's origin name servers answer a quarter faster at p90 after erldns work
DNSimple keeps tuning the Erlang stack it now runs end to end. The November 4 post says p90 query time on its origin name servers is down about a quarter, and about a third for DNSSEC queries, with roughly a third less CPU, and record changes now switch in one step so existing records never briefly disappear. It follows October's dns_erlang rewrite, which cut CPU per query by 12%, and the August finish of the migration to fully owned infrastructure. Above that layer sit the CLI launched in May, browser login from June, and Domain Trustee.
Inspektor Gadget v0.58 adds SELinux and rename tracing and fixes stale OTel series
Inspektor Gadget v0.58.0 adds trace_selinux for SELinux AVC decisions and trace_rename for file renames, an opt-in OpenTelemetry snapshot mode that drops series for processes that no longer exist, and IPv6 support in trace_sni. The profiler fork was rebased onto upstream, and trace_fsslower's output format changed in a breaking way. v0.57.0 had already let gadgets run rootless with narrow capabilities.

Since owning its full DNS edge, DNSimple has turned to measurable performance work on erldns and dns_erlang, published openly. The product layer above, CLI and API clients, is moving more slowly.
Expect more erldns and dns_erlang performance posts; the entries show no sign of a new customer-facing product soon.

The project is pairing two tracks: reducing the privileges and trust an eBPF tool needs (rootless runs, multi-tenancy, hardened parsing) and making its output fit standard observability pipelines (OTel metrics and profiles). New gadgets keep widening security-relevant coverage.
Expect further OpenTelemetry alignment and more security-focused gadgets; the experimental multi-tenancy from v0.56 has not yet shown a path to stable in the entries.
