HyperDX 2.39.0 routes PromQL through ClickHouse's Prometheus HTTP API
A side-by-side editorial comparison of dbt Core and Swetrix — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
dbt 2.0 ships — proprietary binary forks from dbt-oss as AI agent skills land
dbt just shipped its 2.0.0 GA release, formally splitting the codebase into a proprietary 'dbt' binary (the Fusion engine) and 'dbt-oss'. The 2.0 release adds AI agent skill installs from packages, native Databricks metric view materializations, and a new ClickHouse ADBC driver. Post-2.0 dev builds (dev.41) are already extending Lake Compute with Databricks Unity Catalog read access.
Swetrix adds user identity and page title tracking as its data model matures
Swetrix has shipped three meaningful tracker updates across its JS and Node SDKs: profile identification with identify/setTraits/reset (4.5.0), selective URL parameter and hash allowlists (4.6.0), and automatic page title collection in both SDKs (4.7.0/3.5.0). These are not independent additions — they collectively expand what a Swetrix user can segment on: URL structure, page name, and user identity.

The proprietary/OSS fork is the defining structural move: dbt (proprietary) will accumulate AI-adjacent features — agent skills, Lake Compute, Databricks-specific materializations — while dbt-oss serves the backward-compat install base. The agent skills system (SKILL.md packages) is early but establishes a plugin surface for AI workflow definitions inside dbt runs. Expect the Databricks surface to keep widening as Lake Compute moves toward write support.
Next likely move: agent skills expand from installation-only to execution, and Lake Compute adds write paths or more Unity Catalog capabilities. The ClickHouse ADBC driver work may also get a GA tag soon given the volume of RC iterations.

Swetrix is building a more complete visitor data model, moving from anonymous session tracking toward identified user profiles with richer metadata. Page titles and identity resolve two common analytics gaps. The keepalive flag (events on page unload no longer dropped) and Session Replay bundle reduction in 4.5.0 point to SDK maturity. The identity data model is already in place; the dashboard likely follows with per-user views and cohort tooling.
The dashboard will surface per-user activity timelines or cohort analysis as a follow-through to the identify API. Further SDK features will likely build on the identity model (e.g., group/org-level tracking, conversion funnels tied to identified users).
