Skipper
Skipper patches its second filter advisory in a week, this one in the OPA request-body filter.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of Dagger and Infisical — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
Dagger ships native test intelligence and a CI lockfile — pipelines become verifiable artifacts.
Dagger has moved well beyond a 'run containers in CI' abstraction. The platform now understands what pipelines are doing: it reads OpenTelemetry test spans and renders a native test explorer, and it pins every external dependency — container image tags, git branches, HTTP fetches — to a content-addressed lockfile committed to version control. The terminal interface has been rebuilt from scratch around native scrollback rather than a constrained viewport.
Infisical stores PAM session recordings in S3 and backs internal CAs with AWS KMS keys.
Infisical releases several times a week, pairing feature work with a v3 UI migration. v0.166.8 added webhook alert auth and audit-log stream drop alerts. v0.166.9 lets PAM write session recordings to S3-compatible storage, adds AWS KMS-backed signing keys for internal certificate authorities, revamps secret scanning's findings, data stores and data-source flow, and moves Agent Vault variables up from access bundles to the vault as a whole. The frontend also moved to React 19.

The pattern across recent entries is systematic instrumentation of the entire pipeline graph: inputs locked, outputs observable, tests first-class. Dagger is extending the package-manager reproducibility model (npm lock, go.sum) to CI-level dependencies. The direction is a CI runtime where reproducibility and testability are core primitives, not external integrations bolted on after the fact.
The lockfile is the likely seed for automated lock-update workflows and module-dependency pinning. The test intelligence layer will probably expand into structured test history and flakiness tracking within Dagger Cloud.

The separately packaged products keep gaining enterprise controls: PAM gets external recording storage, PKI gets hardware-backed keys, secret scanning gets a rebuilt workflow. Alongside, the UI work is shifting from migration to polish, with suggested names and consistent forms across create flows, plus trial prompts tied to the new per-product pricing.
Expect more KMS-backed options across PKI and further secret-scanning revamp work now that findings and data sources are rebuilt. Whether Agent Vault reaches a GA announcement is not visible in the entries.
