What is Currents?

Currents now lets agents walk a Playwright trace instead of downloading it.

Currents is a Playwright test dashboard rebuilding itself around agent access. In six weeks it shipped agent-readable failure links, scoped personal access tokens, a hosted MCP server with OAuth, run attachments, and now a trace API built for agents. The trace API lets an agent read a Playwright trace one part at a time, choosing each next call from what it just read.

What is Duplicati?

Duplicati turns Hyper-V and MSSQL backups into restorable, named sources.

Duplicati ships a canary roughly weekly and patched its 2.4 stable line on October 7. The 2.4.0.1 stable release focuses on restore reliability, abort handling and security hardening, and adds a reduced reporting mode that strips text and file names from anything leaving the machine. The October 11 canary makes Hyper-V machines and MSSQL databases first-class sources that can be restored to their original location.

Currents now lets agents walk a Playwright trace instead of downloading it.

◆ Current state

Currents is a Playwright test dashboard rebuilding itself around agent access. In six weeks it shipped agent-readable failure links, scoped personal access tokens, a hosted MCP server with OAuth, run attachments, and now a trace API built for agents. The trace API lets an agent read a Playwright trace one part at a time, choosing each next call from what it just read.

◆ Where it's heading

The sequence goes deeper each time: from a failure summary an agent can fetch, to a secure way in, to the logs around a run, to the trace itself. Currents is positioning as the place a coding agent goes to debug a CI failure, with humans as a second audience.

◆ Prediction

The likely next step is wiring the trace API and attachments into the MCP server so one agent session can reach all of it. The entries don't yet confirm that the trace API is exposed through MCP.

◆ Where it's heading

Canaries are moving Duplicati from file-level backup toward workload-aware backup for Windows servers, while stable releases harden restore and privacy. Restore correctness is the common thread, with restore-test commands, error reporting and link handling all fixed in the last month.

◆ Prediction

Expect the Hyper-V and MSSQL providers and restore-test command to reach a 2.4.x stable release after a few more canaries.
