Delta Lake
Delta Lake's public stream is release mechanics; Kernel builds now carry a 4.5.0 label.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of Count and Glances — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
Count's agent now shows the chain of cells and assumptions behind every answer it gives.
Count is a data-canvas analytics tool organized around an AI agent. Its late-October release added Reasoning Chains, which link each claim and chart in an agent answer back to the cells, sources and assumptions behind it. Over the summer it rebuilt the agent with web data and auto layout, moved Python to a server sandbox with any PyPI package, and added longer agent conversations, a faster empty-canvas start and catalog views that stay populated while they refresh.
After a year of CVE fixes, Glances 4.5.7 turns to making its alerts tell the truth.
Most Glances releases this year carried security patches: 4.5.2 alone corrected eight CVEs, and 4.5.3 to 4.5.6 kept going, ending with a credential leak through URL config values. 4.5.7 in September broke the pattern with a long list of correctness fixes, many of them alerts that fired on the wrong value or never fired, plus WebUI colouring bugs and a fix for --enable-mcp under mcp 2.0. 4.5.8 in October fixed export edge cases.

Count is making the agent the main way to work in the canvas, then adding the checks that let people trust its output. Reasoning Chains and server-side Python with managed secrets point at analysis that can be audited and run on real data. Steady fix lists for agent edits show the agent is still being hardened.
Expect more ways to inspect and correct agent work, building on Reasoning Chains. The entries don't show whether chains will extend to Slack answers.

Hardware coverage keeps widening alongside the fixes (Intel, AMD and ARM GPUs, Rockchip NPUs, LXC containers), and a v4 cutover tag in October suggests repository restructuring ahead. The security run appears to have eased since August.
Unclear what the v4 cutover changes for users; until it is explained, expect more 4.5.x maintenance releases.
